经朝阳区教委批准，BCIS在开足开齐并创造性实施国家课程标准以及国家课程校本化的基础上，学校的课程体系由学前及小学课程、中学课程和大学预科课程组成。这一课程体系获得了国际文凭组织的专业授权及认证。
BCIS幼儿园课程将理论知识与实际技能相结合，培养学生理解能力与积极的学习与人生态度，成为有社会责任感的世界公民。学校采用跨学科的教学模式，将数学、语言、个人、社交与情感、科学、社会学、视觉艺术、音乐、体育课的知识与能力融会贯通。
ECC Curriculum
At the ECC, children embark on structured journeys of personalized discovery.Our curriculum is inspired by a variety of early years philosophies and innovative teaching practices, and is based around the IB Primary Years Programme framework. Teachers carefully structure learning using our play-based pedagogy, to ensure all children are challenged and develop an enjoyment of lifelong learning. This personalized approach enables children to develop at their own pace, with the adult practitioners carefully guiding and scaffolding learning to ensure all children achieve personal success.
Primary Years Programme
Through its inquiry-led, transdisciplinary framework, the PYP challenges students to think for themselves and take responsibility for their learning as they explore local and global issues and opportunities in real-life contexts.
Why is play important?
Current research indicates that play is essential for the healthy development of:
- Intellectual growth – Play allows children to make sense of their world.
- Creativity – Play allows children to develop attributes and attitudes like flexibility, spontaneity, curiosity and persistence.
- Social Skills – Play allows children to form and explore friendships.
- Language and Literacy Development – Play allows children to confidently explore new sounds and noises associated with phonological awareness, as well as print awareness and letter knowledge.
- Numeracy Development – Play allows children to compare, classify, quantify, and sort; problem solve; pattern, position, and measure.
- Physical Development and Health – Play allows children to develop and refine gross and fine motor skills through active and repeated use of the large and small muscles.
- Emotional development – Play allows children to develop self-regulation and emotional awareness as part of their confident, courageous, and positive self-concept.
